June Dairy Month 2017 Encourages Consumers to Discover the Cool Possibilities in the Dairy Aisle

Harrisburg, PA – Consumers can expect money-saving promotions in the refrigerated dairy aisles this June as the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) celebrates the 15th annual June Dairy Month. This year’s theme, Discover the Cool Possibilities, communicates to shoppers that the dairy is full of versatile and innovative products that go way beyond the weekly staples.

NFRA and sponsoring refrigerated food brands will partner to provide consumers with valuable coupons and offers on Coupons.com. An integrated media partnership with WestwoodOne will deliver the refrigerated food message to millions of consumers across radio, email, online and through social media. A satellite media tour hosted by celebrity chef Ceci Carmichael on May 31, 2017, will tout the many tasty and nutritious options in the dairy aisle and gain national media coverage for June Dairy Month.

Strategic partnerships will expand the promotion’s reach to new audiences. The Mr. Food Test Kitchen will create a June Dairy Month TV segment that will air to five million viewers. NFRA’s panel of 11 food bloggers will engage their followers with creative recipes using refrigerated dairy foods. An online media partnership with The Kitchn will extend the message to a large and engaged foodie audience.

On social media, June Dairy Month and sponsoring brands will be promoted throughout NFRA’s consumer-facing Easy Home Meals properties. In addition, a $10,000 Sweepstakes will engage consumers online at EasyHomeMeals.com. Brands and retailers will have the opportunity to engage with consumers during a Dairy Month Twitter Party hosted by Resourceful Mommy on June 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. EDT.

NFRA offers many resources to its members to assist their June Dairy Month promotional efforts. The June Idea Book of great merchandising tips, coordinating artwork and logos, digital marketing to consumers and a consumer media push will support the month-long effort. Redesigned POP material is also available to bring the Discover the Cool Possibilities message in-store.

During the June promotion, retailers, manufacturers and sales agents will also have the opportunity to enter their best displays and marketing campaigns in the prestigious Golden Penguin Awards competition. The winning entries showcasing the top marketing and merchandising ideas will be recognized at the NFRA Convention in Orlando, Fla.
